Parent Consultation + Training
Dorrey offers behavior consultation and training, providing parents with skills and confidence to support their children in the home, school, and community. Parents play a crucial role in supporting the generalization and maintenance of skills. She helps parents navigate information and resources, evaluate programs and services, and make recommendations for appropriate placements.
Program Design
Dorrey creates individualized behavior programs that are child and family centered. She uses a naturalistic behavior approach to ensure each child’s interests and motivators are incorporated into teaching opportunities within the natural environment. Key components include:
Teaching within play-based activities and daily routines
Targeting pivotal areas of a child’s development (motivation, response to multiple cues, self-management, initiation of social interactions)
Using a variety of behavioral strategies to teach developmentally appropriate skills
Utilizing natural reinforcement
Emphasizing neurodiversity affirming and assent driven practices
School Consultations
Dorrey offers school consultations to ensure your child is getting the support they need. She collaborates with school professionals, provides training, develops school-based behavior programs and assists with the IEP process.
